Barcelona have reportedly expressed strong interest in securing the services of Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko during the upcoming summer transfer window, as per Marca.

The Catalan giants are actively seeking a new centre-forward to succeed Robert Lewandowski, who is set to depart the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of this month.

Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez has been identified as Barcelona’s top target for the position. However, completing a deal for the Argentine striker appears highly challenging.

Atletico recently rejected a massive £129 million bid from Real Madrid and are holding out for an even larger sum, making negotiations difficult for Barcelona.

While Alvarez remains Barcelona’s preferred choice, the club is also weighing up alternative options in case their pursuit of the Argentine does not materialise.

Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko, alongside Serhou Guirassy and Karl Etta Eyong, have been added to their shortlist of potential signings.

The Slovenian international joined Manchester United last summer from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly valued at up to £74 million.

Sesko initially struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League but produced a strong turnaround in the latter part of the season, demonstrating his growing influence in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Recognised as a top-class number nine, Sesko has earned plaudits for his combination of physical strength and technical quality.

Known for his blistering pace, relentless work ethic, and aerial ability, the young striker is still working on refining his decision-making in attacking situations.

Manchester United are reportedly satisfied with Sesko’s development and have no intention of entertaining offers for the player this summer.

The Red Devils, instead, are focused on recruiting a reliable back-up forward to support the 23-year-old, with Joshua Zirkzee having failed to meet expectations.
