We had reported earlier that Ashwath Marimuthu is speculated to have replaced Cibi Chakravarthi as the director of Rajinikanth’s next for Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI), tentatively titled Thalaivar 173. The speculations grew thick early this month on Ashwath’s birthday, when RKFI posted a special birthday post for the Dragon maker.
Recent reports suggest that filming of Thalaivar 173 has commenced with other actors in the film in a grand set in Poonamallee. With Rajinikanth yet to join the sets, reports further stated that his first shot will be for the film’s opening song.
Meanwhile, speculations also suggested that Mysskin, who previously starred in Ashwath’s Dragonis also set to play a part in Thalaivar 173. Details about the cast, crew, plot, genre, and release date aren’t yet available.
Thalaivar 173 initially had Sundar C as the director, and he left the project owing to creative differences. Following his exit, Cibi Chakravarthy was attached as the director. The film was supposed to enter production in April. The delay sparked rumours of another reshuffle. Meanwhile, RKFI is also set to collaborate with Rajinikanth for a film with Kamal Haasan, directed by Nelson, tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion.
