A crucial announcement has been made for those aspiring to become Physical Education Teachers (PTIs) in Rajasthan's government schools. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has provided an important update regarding the PTI recruitment examination, which was initially scheduled for September 2026 but has now been deferred to the following year.
The RSSB has confirmed that the PTI recruitment exam will not occur on September 13, 2026. The Board indicated that certain clarifications regarding recruitment rules are still awaited, leading to a delay in the recruitment process. As a result, the exam is now anticipated to take place in 2027.
**Chairman's Statement on Social Media**
Alok Raj, the Chairman of RSSB, shared this update on the social media platform 'X', emphasizing that the recruitment notification will be released only after the necessary clarifications regarding the rules are obtained. He mentioned that, under the current circumstances, conducting the exam in 2026 is impractical. The Board is now targeting April 2027 for the exam, with specific dates and schedules to be announced once the rules are clarified.
**Initial Plans for September 2026 Exam**
Originally, the Board intended to hold the exam in September 2026, with expectations that the recruitment notification would be issued by the end of June, followed by the start of the online application process. Candidates were to have approximately one month to submit their applications, but this timeline has now been extended.
**Recruitment for 900 Positions**
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board is preparing to fill around 900 PTI positions throughout the state. However, the official recruitment advertisement has yet to be published. The recruitment schedule will be disclosed only after the procedural formalities concerning the rules are finalized.
**Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit**
To qualify for the PTI recruitment, candidates must have completed their 12th-grade education from a recognized board. Additionally, a recognized qualification in physical education, such as B.P.Ed., D.P.Ed., or C.P.Ed., is required. The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, while the maximum age is 40 years, calculated as of January 1, 2027. Furthermore, age relaxation will be provided to OBC, SC, ST, EWS candidates, and female applicants as per government regulations.
