Mumbai | Entry to the Maharashtra legislature complex will be regulated through a face recognition system from Tuesday, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar announced on Monday, while granting a one-day exemption to journalists, officials and employees facing registration issues.
On the first day of the legislature's monsoon session, Narwekar said in the House that a procedure for implementing the face recognition system had been finalised and registration of most legislators was already completed.
"Accordingly, it has been decided that entry to the Vidhan Bhavan will be through the face recognition system. The face recognition of most MLAs has been completed so far, and their entry is taking place smoothly," he said.
Narwekar noted that some journalists, officers and employees could not complete their face-recognition registration due to technical difficulties.

"Therefore, journalists, officers and employees whose face recognition has not been completed have been granted relaxation today and have been allowed entry based on their identity cards," he said.
