New Delhi: Union Minister of State George Kurien has resigned from the cabinet and his post in the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation from the Union Council of Ministers. According to a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, this resignation was accepted with immediate effect on Tuesday on the advice of the Prime Minister.
George Kurien was a minister in the Dairy Ministry.
George Kurien was an MP in the Rajya Sabha since August 2024. He was sworn in as Union Minister of State on June 9, 2024. After this, on June 11, 2024, he took over as Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
