World Cup debutants Jordan are determined to secure their first victory as they prepare for a crucial Group J encounter.
The line-up of ITV commentators, analysts, and presenters for Jordan’s World Cup 2026 clash with Algeria has now been confirmed.
Jordan, competing in their maiden World Cup, suffered a 3-1 loss to Austria in their opening match. Ali Olwan’s equaliser briefly lifted spirits before Austria regained control to seal the win.
Algeria, meanwhile, were outclassed by Lionel Messi’s brilliance as the Argentine captain netted a hat-trick in a 3-0 triumph. With both teams yet to register a point, their meeting in San Francisco promises to be highly competitive.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4am BST on Tuesday, June 23. The fixture holds major significance, with Jordan aiming to earn their first-ever World Cup point and Algeria eager to demonstrate their quality on the big stage.
Both sides understand that another defeat could severely damage their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds, especially with Jordan still to face a Messi-inspired Argentina in their final group fixture.
Viewers can tune in to ITV for live coverage of Jordan vs Algeria, presented by Semra Hunter. The experienced broadcaster, well known to Spanish football fans for her previous work as a Real Madrid TV anchor, will lead the coverage.
The California-born presenter will be joined in the studio by Karen Carney and Jobi McAnuff.
Former England international Carney has become a familiar face on ITV’s football coverage. During her distinguished playing career, she earned over 100 caps and played a key role in the Lionesses’ third-place finish at the 2015 World Cup.
McAnuff, who enjoyed a long career in the EFL, notably captained Reading to the Championship title in 2012. The former Jamaica international, who represented his country 32 times, has since built a strong reputation as a pundit across BBC, ITV and Sky Sports, especially for his insights on the EFL.
Commentary duties will be handled by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward, who previously teamed up for Belgium’s goalless draw with Iran in Group G on Sunday night.
Outside the World Cup, Speight regularly provides commentary for various broadcasters, including Premier League Productions and NBC.
Ward, a former Leeds United striker, is an established voice across several networks and was named TV/Radio Pundit of the Year at the 2025 Football Supporters’ Association Awards.
