Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at the Secretariat in Dehradun on Tuesday. In which CM Dhami has directed the officials to conduct a complete fire safety audit of all the hospitals, coaching institutes, malls, hotels and crowded buildings of the state. He clearly said that safety of citizens is one of the biggest priorities of the government and any negligence in following fire safety standards will not be tolerated at all.

Chief Minister Dhami directed the officials present in the meeting to immediately identify the places where fire safety arrangements are not as per the prescribed standards and take necessary corrective steps. He said that fire fighting equipment, emergency exit routes, electrical safety systems and safe evacuation arrangements in case of emergency should be specially examined.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure better coordination between the Fire Services Department, District Administration and other concerned departments, so that the process of fire safety audit can be completed effectively within the stipulated time frame.

15 people died in Lucknow coaching fire

On the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, the case of investigation of fire in the coaching center has been handed over to SIT. SIT will investigate and submit its report to the government within 7 days. Chief Minister Yogi announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured. Expressing grief over the incident, PM Narendra Modi has also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each for the injured.
