Berlin. A technical glitch in the railway communication system in Germany late Tuesday night affected rail services across the country. Due to sudden stoppage of trains, thousands of passengers got stuck at various stations and had to face immense inconvenience. Deutsche Bahn expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and announced that it will provide facilities such as taxis and hotel vouchers to those affected.

The railway administration also said that wherever possible, trains parked at stations will be used as temporary resting places for passengers, so that they do not have to face trouble during the night.

Services gradually began to be restored in parts of the railway network about two hours after the technical glitch was reported.
