The BBC has secured the broadcast rights for the Czech Republic vs Mexico fixture, which will be aired live on BBC One. At the same time, viewers can tune into BBC Two to watch South Africa take on South Korea.

Unlike many earlier matches in the tournament, this late kick-off will not feature a studio presentation. Instead, the coverage will go straight to the commentary team inside the stadium.

Leading the commentary for this encounter is veteran broadcaster Steve Bower, who has been a familiar voice for football fans for many years. His impressive career spans across networks such as MUTV, Setanta Sports, ITV, Sky Sports, ESPN, NBC, Amazon Prime, and DAZN. He has been covering the FIFA World Cup for the BBC since 2010 and brings a wealth of experience to the broadcast.

Alongside him in the commentary box will be Danny Murphy. The former Liverpool midfielder, who earned nine England caps between 2001 and 2003, has become a regular face and voice on BBC’s football coverage since retiring from professional football. Murphy was also set to represent England at the 2002 World Cup as a replacement for Steven Gerrard before picking up an injury himself.

Together, Bower and Murphy will provide live commentary and expert analysis for what promises to be an intriguing clash between the Czech Republic and Mexico.
