Bihar Government Jobs 2026: There is excellent news for young people aspiring for government jobs in Bihar. Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Bihar's Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, has made significant announcements regarding large-scale recruitment and land reforms. The Minister stated that 8,054 revenue personnel would soon be recruited in the state. An official proposal regarding this has already been sent to the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).
Additionally, to accelerate land surveying processes, there will be direct recruitment of 765 *Amins* (land surveyors). A total of 2,502 posts for *Amins* are sanctioned in the state, yet recruitment has taken place for only 1,197 of these positions. Alongside the recruitment of *Amins*, data entry operators will be appointed in every *Gram Kutchery* (village court) to digitize operations.
In Bihar, the role of a government *Amin* falls under the Department of Revenue and Land Reforms. Their duties involve land measurement, surveying, and managing land records.
**Qualifications for the *Amin* Post**
Candidates must have passed the 12th-grade examination from a recognized board. The minimum age limit is generally 18 years. The maximum age limit is approximately 37 years for men in the general category, with relaxations provided for women and reserved categories as per regulations.
**Salary of an *Amin***
The salary of a Bihar *Amin* falls under Pay Level-3 as per the 7th Pay Commission. The basic pay starts at ₹21,700 per month, with a pay scale ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. After adding allowances (DA, HRA, TA, etc.), the in-hand salary typically ranges between ₹28,000 and ₹33,000 per month.
**Duties of Revenue Personnel**
Bihar's Revenue and Land Reforms Minister, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, has announced the recruitment of over 8,000 revenue personnel. These are entry-level field staff within the Revenue Department responsible for handling tasks related to *Khata* (account/holding number), *Khasra* (plot number), *Lagan* (land revenue/rent), mutation, and other related matters. This is the same role as a *Lekhpal*, but in Bihar, they are called *Rajaswa Karmachari* (Revenue Employee).
