In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dalhousie Public School hosted an awareness program on June 25, 2026. This initiative was organized by the Office of the Chairman, Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee (SDLSC), Dalhousie, District Chamba, aiming to inform students about the risks associated with substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The event featured speeches from Mr. Kapil Sambyal, SHO of Dalhousie Police Station, along with esteemed legal professionals from the Civil Court in Dalhousie, including Mr. Mohit, Mr. Avinash Thakur, Mr. Arif Khan, and Mr. Rajeev Tandon.
During their addresses, the speakers emphasized the adverse effects of drug abuse on both physical and mental health, the detrimental impact on families and communities, and the legal ramifications associated with drug possession and trafficking. They encouraged students to stay alert against harmful influences, make wise decisions, and work towards fostering a drug-free community.
The interactive segment of the program saw active involvement from students, who posed questions and engaged in discussions with the speakers. This event served as a crucial platform for raising awareness and reinforcing the principles of prevention, responsibility, and healthy living among the youth.
