ARLINGTON, Texas – As Sweden prepare to face Japan in Thursday’s World Cup Group F showdown at Dallas Stadium, head coach Graham Potter has made key adjustments to his starting eleven. Most notably, forward Anthony Elanga has been brought into the lineup, replacing Benjamin Nygren on the flank.
The changes don't stop there. In midfield, Elliot Stroud gets the nod over Jesper Karlstrom, while goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom earns just his fourth international cap, stepping in for Kristoffer Nordfeldt between the posts.
On the opposing side, Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu has opted for three alterations to the side that cruised past Tunisia 4-0. Yukinari Sugawara takes over from Junya Ito in defense, Ayumu Seko comes in for Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Daizen Maeda is preferred to Kaishu Sano in attack.
Confirmed Line-ups:
Japan: Zion Suzuki, Yukinari Sugawara, Ko Itakura, Ayumu Seko, Hiroki Ito, Ao Tanaka, Ritsu Doan, Daizen Maeda, Keito Nakamura, Daichi Kamada, Ayase Ueda
