Harry Kane has once again proven his knack for rewriting England’s football history, as the Three Lions captain added another remarkable record to his illustrious career.
In England’s clash against Panama on Saturday, Kane found the net in the 67th minute, a goal that etched his name deeper into the nation’s World Cup legacy. With this strike, he became England’s all-time leading goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history.
Prior to this, legendary striker Gary Lineker held the record with 10 goals scored across his World Cup appearances. Kane’s goal against Panama took him to 11, allowing him to surpass Lineker and stand alone as England’s top scorer on the grandest stage of world football.
The England skipper had already broken Wayne Rooney’s long-standing record of 53 international goals in 2023, making him the country’s all-time top scorer across all competitions.
Currently playing for Bayern Munich, Kane also holds several other England records, including the most goals scored at major international tournaments (16) and the highest number of goals scored by an England player in a single calendar year, a record he set in 2021.
With his consistent scoring form and leadership on the pitch, Harry Kane continues to solidify his status as one of England’s greatest ever footballers, inspiring a new generation as the Three Lions pursue further glory on the global stage.
