How To Get To Titania In Nintendo Star Fox
Samira Vishwas | June 30, 2026 2:24 AM CST

Titania is one of the easiest stages to miss in Star Foxespecially if you naturally play well. Unlike many hidden routes that reward perfect gameplay, reaching Titania requires you to intentionally let a specific event happen during an earlier mission. Because of this unusual requirement, many players finish several playthroughs without ever visiting the desert planet.

What Is Titania?

Titania is a desert planet in the Lylat System. In this mission, Fox McCloud pilots the Landmaster tank instead of the Arwing. The stage features ancient ruins, sandstorms, land mines, and large mechanical enemies before ending with a battle against Goras.

Unlike several other planets, Titania has no alternate exits. Once you complete the mission, your journey continues directly toward Bolse.

Start By Reaching Sector X

Titania can only be accessed through Sector X. There is no direct route from any other stage.

Several earlier paths eventually lead to Sector X, so your first goal is simply to arrive there. Once you begin the Sector X mission, play normally until you reach the boss.

Let Slippy Get Knocked Down

This is the most important part of unlocking Titania.

The boss of Sector X is Spyborg. During the battle, many players destroy the boss as quickly as possible. However, doing that prevents access to Titania.

Instead, follow these steps:

  • Reach the second phase of the Spyborg fight.
  • Avoid defeating the boss immediately.
  • Stay alive and keep dodging its attacks.
  • Wait until Slippy Toad flies close to the boss.
  • Allow Spyborg to strike Slippy and knock him out of the battle.
  • After Slippy is defeated, finish destroying Spyborg.

Once the mission ends, the game automatically sends you to Titania.

This is one of the rare cases in the game where making what appears to be a mistake actually unlocks a hidden stage.

Why Players Often Miss Titania

Most players instinctively defeat bosses as fast as possible. Since the game usually rewards quick reactions and protecting teammates, very few people think about intentionally allowing Slippy to be defeated.

As a result, they are sent to Macbeth instead and never realize Titania exists.

If you have completed multiple runs without finding Titania, this unusual requirement is almost certainly the reason.

What Happens If You Save Slippy?

If Slippy survives the entire Spyborg battle, you will not visit Titania.

Instead, the game places you on a different route that leads toward Macbeth. Depending on how you completed Sector X, you may also unlock other branching paths.

Simply defeating the boss normally is not enough to reach Titania. Slippy must specifically be knocked out during the encounter.

What To Expect On Titania

Titania changes the gameplay significantly.

Instead of flying an Arwing through open space, you drive the Landmaster across a massive desert filled with hazards.

During the mission you will encounter:

  • Falling stone pillars
  • Buried land mines
  • Enemy tanks and walkers
  • Sandstorms that reduce visibility
  • Ancient ruins
  • The giant boss Goras

The slower pace makes the level feel very different from the aerial combat found in most other missions.

Tips For Completing Titania

The stage is not particularly difficult, but these tips can make it easier:

  • Keep moving to avoid enemy fire.
  • Destroy land mines before driving over them.
  • Use the Landmaster hover ability when necessary.
  • Watch for enemies hidden by the sandstorm.
  • Save Smart Bombs for crowded enemy groups or emergencies.

Patience is more important than speed on this level.

Can You Return To Titania Later?

Yes. The game encourages multiple playthroughs, allowing you to unlock every stage over time.

If you accidentally miss Titania, simply start another run and repeat the Sector X mission. This time, let Slippy get knocked out before defeating Spyborg.

Many players revisit Titania later to earn its medal, improve their score, or complete every route in the game.

Is Titania Required?

No. You can finish the game without ever visiting Titania.

However, players who want to experience every mission, unlock every route, or achieve full completion should definitely play it at least once.

Titania also offers one of the game’s most memorable Landmaster missions, making it worth seeing even if it is not required for the ending.
