Jamie O’Hara urges Tottenham Hotspur to go all out for Marcus Rashford signing

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and current talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has called on the club to make every possible effort to bring Marcus Rashford to north London.

O’Hara insists that the Manchester United forward could become a ‘star player’ for Tottenham if the club manages to complete the signing.

Rashford’s future has become one of the main storylines of this summer’s transfer window following the conclusion of his loan stint with Barcelona.

The England international impressed during the 2025/26 season, registering 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

Despite those strong performances, the Spanish champions opted not to exercise their £26 million option to make the move permanent.

That decision has left Rashford’s future uncertain. With doubts surrounding his long-term role at Manchester United, speculation continues about where he might move next.

The 28-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since December 2024, having spent the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa before joining Barcelona on a temporary deal.

Although Rashford still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford, Manchester United are expected to entertain offers if the right proposal is made.

O’Hara believes Tottenham should take advantage of the situation and make a serious move for the winger.

“I would love nothing more than for us [Spurs] to break the bank with wages and get him over the line,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.

“It’s not going to cost you huge money – what, £30 million, maybe?

“You’re practically getting him for free because they [Manchester United] want him off the wage bill. They don’t want him there anymore; his future at Manchester United is finished, right?

“The only reason he’d be reintegrated into the squad is if they can’t move him on.

“If they can strike a deal and get Marcus Rashford to Tottenham, he would be a star player for us. He’s still top class.”

Rashford is currently representing England at the World Cup.

He made his first start of the tournament on Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes as Thomas Tuchel’s side defeated Panama 2-0 to top Group L and progress to the Round of 32.
