Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has once again demonstrated his integrity and humility through a touching gesture off the pitch.
Mbeumo enjoyed a strong debut season at Old Trafford after completing a high-profile transfer from Brentford last summer.
He joined United following a superb campaign with Brentford, where he scored a personal best of 20 goals in the Premier League.
The Cameroon international became an influential figure under both Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick during his first season in Manchester. He concluded the campaign with 11 Premier League goals, having endured a brief goal drought after the Africa Cup of Nations but still managing to make a significant overall impact that he will aim to build upon next season.
While his performances on the field have impressed, Mbeumo’s admirable character has also shone brightly beyond football.
Four months ago, the forward welcomed pupils and teachers from his former school, Jeanne d’Arc La Salle in Avallon, to Manchester United’s Carrington training centre.
The meeting took place the day after he found the back of the net in a 2–0 win against Tottenham Hotspur. Mbeumo personally greeted the group upon their arrival, echoing a similar warm welcome he once extended to guests during his Brentford days.
During that visit, Mbeumo promised that he would visit Jeanne d’Arc La Salle himself over the summer — a promise he has now fulfilled. Manchester United have confirmed that the 26-year-old kept his word.
The club released several images capturing Mbeumo’s visit, showing him engaging warmly with students, posing for photographs, and signing autographs with a smile.
United noted, “Fresh from an excellent first season at Manchester United, the Cameroon international may have been recharging his batteries but took time out to chat to pupils and sign autographs earlier this month.”
They added, “Answering questions in both French and English, our no.19 continues to enjoy a strong bond with a place and people who clearly mean a great deal to him.”
Manchester United have also confirmed that Mbeumo and his teammates are set to return to Carrington on Thursday, 9 July, as preparations begin for the upcoming pre-season campaign.
