A golden opportunity to become a Technician in the Railways has arrived. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a short notification for the recruitment of 6,565 Technicians. Who can apply?

Candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, they must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, recognized by NCVT or SCVT. Candidates holding an Act Apprenticeship Certificate are also eligible to apply. For certain Technician Grade-I (Signal) posts, a degree or diploma in the relevant engineering discipline will also be required.

What is the age limit?

For the Technician Grade-I (Signal) post, candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age. For Technician Grade-III, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 30 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government regulations.

Recruitment in three stages

The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages. First, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be held. Candidates who qualify will be called for document verification. The final stage will be a medical examination. Candidates who successfully complete all stages will be appointed.

What is the salary?

Candidates selected for the Technician Grade-I (Signal) post will receive a basic salary of ₹29,200 per month under Pay Level-5 of the 7th Pay Commission. Meanwhile, candidates selected for the Technician Grade-III post will receive an initial basic salary of ₹19,900 per month, in accordance with Pay Level-2. In addition to the basic salary, employees will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), pension, railway travel facilities, and medical benefits.
