Tezzbuzz Desk- While on one hand the monsoon season brings coolness and greenery, on the other hand it also increases the risk of many diseases. During this time, due to moisture and dirt, bacteria and viruses spread rapidly, due to which the risk of diseases like cold, viral infection, food poisoning and malaria increases.
But by taking a little caution and adopting right habits, you can keep yourself and your family safe from these diseases.
Drink only boiled or filtered water
The risk of infection from contaminated water increases significantly during monsoon. Therefore, always drink boiled or well filtered water. Avoid drinking water or ice drinks from unknown sources anywhere outside.
eat fresh and home-cooked food
Food kept outside or in the open during the rainy season can spoil quickly, due to which bacteria start growing. In such a situation, always eat fresh and hot home-cooked food. Also, do not forget to wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before using them.
Protection from mosquitoes is very important
Due to accumulation of water at many places during monsoon, the number of mosquitoes increases, due to which the risk of diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya increases. To avoid this, do not allow water to accumulate around the house, use mosquito nets and wear full sleeve clothes.
maintain hand hygiene
The easiest way to avoid infection is to wash hands regularly. Wash hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before eating food and after coming from outside. If water is not available, use alcohol-based sanitizer.
keep immunity strong
A strong immune system helps the body fight many diseases. For this, include seasonal fruits, green vegetables, pulses, curd and vitamin C rich things in your diet. Get enough sleep, do light exercise and keep the body hydrated.
As beautiful as the monsoon season is, it also requires caution. By adopting small habits like clean water, proper eating habits, cleanliness and protection from mosquitoes, you can keep yourself completely healthy in this season.
