Sanjay Gupta posted on X has got people rage-baited and angry. The filmmaker reacted to the ongoing Pune murder case and urged people not to repeat what, according to him, happened with Rhea Chakraborty after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. While some agreed with his appeal to let the investigation take its course, many felt the comparison wasn’t appropriate and quickly shared their opinions online.

The filmmaker took to X after the Pune murder case continued to dominate headlines. Referring to Rhea Chakraborty’s experience in the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Gupta appealed to people not to rush into forming opinions before the legal process is complete.

His post came as Pune Police continue to investigate the death of 25-year-old Ketan Vishal Agarwal, who allegedly died after being pushed off Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18. Police have named his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, as accused in the case. Investigators claim the two allegedly planned the murder because they wanted to marry each other.

One user said, “Evidence, what evidence should one collect from a remote area. I think they have already accepted their deed unless the lawyer teaches them not to accept anything in court in front of the judge.

Don’t judge two events as similar events. Sushant Singh’s death is a mystery”.

Another one said, “What is#wrong with you?

Or nothing is right with you? She is a#murderer. There is enough evidence. She not only killed a boy but his entire #family by killing their only #son. If she was not #happy, she could have run away from her #home instead of killing an innocent #boy”.

According to investigators, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly conspired to kill Ketan Agarwal after deciding they wanted to be together. Police have also alleged that Ketan survived an earlier attempt on his life before the incident at Lohagad Fort.

The investigation has also taken another turn after lawyer Aashuutosh Srivastava sent a ₹10 crore defamation notice to Siya’s brother, Sahil Goyal. Sahil had publicly stated that the family had not appointed Srivastava as Siya’s lawyer, a claim the lawyer has denied.

Gupta’s reference goes back to 2020, when Rhea Chakraborty found herself at the centre of intense media coverage following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. She was later arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drugs case linked to the investigation and spent 27 days in jail before being granted bail.

In March 2025, the Central Bureau of Investigation filed closure reports in the cases related to Rajput’s death. It concluded that it was a case of suicide and found no evidence against Rhea Chakraborty or her family.
