ITV line-up revealed for Argentina vs Cape Verde World Cup round of 32 clash

The World Cup round of 32 draw has produced a classic David versus Goliath contest.

Argentina are set to continue their World Cup title defence when they take on Cape Verde — a matchup that pits the reigning champions against one of the tournament’s most inspiring underdog stories.

The winner of this encounter at Miami Stadium will move on to face Egypt in Atlanta on July 7 in the next round.

Argentina, known as the Albiceleste, advanced through Group J with a flawless record, led by captain Lionel Messi, who netted six goals across victories over Algeria, Austria and Jordan.

Meanwhile, Cape Verde stunned the footballing world by finishing second in Group H, remaining unbeaten through three matches in what has been one of the early surprises of the competition.

The team ranked 67th in the world held tournament favourites Spain to a draw in their opening game and went on to earn points against Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.

Fans in the UK can watch live coverage of the Argentina vs Cape Verde clash on ITV1, beginning at 10:15pm local time, with kick-off scheduled for 11:00pm.

Hosting duties for ITV’s broadcast will be handled by Mark Pougatch, who will present from the network’s New York studio. He will be joined by pundits Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Karen Carney, all offering their expert insights and analysis.

Gary Neville, a cornerstone of Manchester United’s famed Class of ’92, collected 21 trophies over 19 years, including eight Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns.
