There is good news for people troubled by heat and humidity. Monsoon has now gained its full speed across the country. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), due to a strong pressure area over the North-West Bay of Bengal, the weather pattern is going to change completely in the next few days. This system is moving towards North Odisha and Chhattisgarh, due to which heavy to extremely heavy rains are going to start in the states of Central, West and North India.

High alert in 13 states

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 13 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Haryana within the next 8 hours. During this period, not only rain, but also strong winds at a speed of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour and lightning at many places is expected.

Condition of Delhi and UP

A series of rains and storms may start in the capital Delhi from today, July 5. The sky will be cloudy and the temperature is expected to drop. At the same time, monsoon is fully active in Uttar Pradesh. Between July 5 and 10, there will be heavy rain in most parts of the state. Along with heavy rain, a warning of thunderstorm has been issued in many districts of Eastern and Western UP.

Danger of landslides in hilly states

The situation may become serious due to active monsoon in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. There are chances of heavy rain at isolated places in Uttarakhand today, due to which a warning has been given of landslides and increase in the water level of rivers. At the same time, an alert of very heavy rain has been issued in Himachal on July 6-7, due to which movement on hilly roads may be affected.

Situation of Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan

There will be intermittent rains in Bihar from 5th to 10th July, which will provide relief from the heat. At the same time, in Jharkhand between July 5 and 7, heavy rains along with strong winds at a speed of 50 km per hour may occur. Monsoon will also gain momentum in Rajasthan and there is a possibility of ‘very heavy rain’ at isolated places in East Rajasthan between July 5 and 7.
