Dayot Upamecano has firmly dismissed the ongoing talk linking Michael Olise with a potential switch to Real Madrid, making it clear that the Bayern Munich winger is not going anywhere. The French defender’s remarks arrive amid widespread reports that Los Blancos are considering a record-breaking €223 million offer for the 24-year-old star.

Olise has been persistently connected with Real Madrid as the transfer chatter heats up during the 2026 World Cup. According to SPORT, the Spanish giants could be ready to part with a staggering €223 million (£191m/$255m) to bring the Bayern Munich wide man to the Santiago Bernabéu. Despite such speculation, Olise’s national teammate Upamecano has strongly downplayed the rumours.

When asked about the repeated reports linking Olise to Real Madrid while on international duty with France, Upamecano offered a concise yet decisive reply, suggesting that Bayern Munich have no plans to let go of one of their core players.

“He stays here, he stays here!” Upamecano declared emphatically.

Former France striker Louis Saha also commented on the situation in an interview with GOAL, acknowledging that the reported transfer figures are extraordinary while commending Olise’s remarkable progress.

“It’s absolutely crazy numbers,” Saha said. “But I do think that he deserves those kinds of acknowledgements and discussions because what the boy has accomplished in just one or two years is unbelievable.

“People forget that he was playing for Crystal Palace not so long ago, and many probably didn’t realise the level of talent he possessed. It’s a wonderful story, because someone who was once perceived as maybe lacking passion or commitment towards football has silenced every critic by showing that when you remain true to your own identity, you can achieve incredible things. Now everyone is chasing him, and it’s a beautiful thing.”

Transfer speculation around Olise is expected to persist as the window continues. While Bayern Munich's stance remains firm, reports linking the winger with Real Madrid are unlikely to fade, given the intense interest in one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents.

For now, Olise remains fully concentrated on his international responsibilities with France. Following Les Bleus’ narrow 1-0 win over Paraguay, the team will turn their attention to facing Morocco in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
