Alexis Vossah could become the next young star to join Manchester United under the INEOS project, if recent reports from France are to be believed.

It is no secret that strengthening the midfield has been the club’s top priority this summer. However, that plan has faced several obstacles. Apart from securing long-term target Ederson, most of United’s other midfield pursuits have stalled.

Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, who were both seen as ideal additions to the squad, have chosen to join rival clubs instead. As a result, the 20-time English champions are now forced to be more strategic and selective in identifying new targets.

According to Fussball Europa, one such potential recruit is Alexis Vossah. The Toulouse midfielder was one of the standout young performers in Ligue 1 last season, making an impressive 23 appearances at just 18 years of age.

Vossah, primarily a defensive midfielder who can also operate as a centre-back, has drawn widespread praise for his composure, vision, and ability to distribute the ball effectively with both feet. Although still developing, his maturity and technical skill have made him a player that several clubs are keen to take a calculated gamble on.

Chelsea reportedly attempted to sign Vossah last summer, submitting an €8 million (£6.8 million) bid that was ultimately turned down. This time around, the Blues have not re-entered the race, but Crystal Palace and Manchester United are believed to be in touch with the youngster’s representatives to monitor his progress.

Toulouse, fully aware of Vossah’s potential, are in a strong negotiating position. With his current contract running until 2028, the French club have set a valuation of €25 million (£21.4 million) for any suitors hoping to secure his services.

That figure is considerable for a teenager with limited top-flight experience. Nevertheless, if INEOS see in Vossah the same promise they did in Leny Yoro, they may still decide to make a firm commitment.
