New Renault Kwid 2026 Launched in India; New logo, simple variants and attractive price

Renault India has launched the 2026 updated model of its popular hatchback car ‘Kwid’ in the Indian market. To attract first-time car buyers, the company has changed the design of the car and reduced the number of variants. The ex-showroom price of this new car starts from Rs 4.52 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.60 lakh. Interestingly, the company has announced an online cash benefit of Rs 15,000 on the ‘Climber’ variant, bringing the effective price of the model to Rs 4.99 lakh.

What are the new changes??

New Brand Logo: The biggest change in the 2026 Kwid is the new Renault brand logo on the front of the car, giving the car a more modern look.

Simple variants: To avoid customer confusion, the company has discontinued several old variants and now only offers two variants – Evolution and Climber.

Powerful engine: The car is powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine as before, which generates 69 bhp of power and 91 Nm of torque. It gets a choice of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT automatic gearboxes.

Variants and Prices (Ex-Showroom)

The Evolution Manual (MT) variant of the new Kwid is priced at Rs 4.52 lakh and the Automatic (AMT) variant is priced at Rs 4.89 lakh. On the other hand, the more feature-rich Climber Manual (MT) variant is priced at Rs 5.14 lakh and the Climber Automatic (AMT) variant is priced at Rs 5.60 lakh.

Features and Security

The car gets modern features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support), digital instrument cluster, reverse camera, power windows and remote keyless entry. The car has a ground clearance of 184 mm and boot space of 279 liters.

In terms of safety, it has a total of 17 standard safety features including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belt reminder. Since its launch in 2015, more than 4.5 lakh Kwid cars have been sold in India.
