Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kirti Azad, speaking to IANS, said that the Ram Mandir Trust includes members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Questioning the financial system of RSS, he said that the organization has big buildings, organizes programs across the country and claims to have lakhs of members, but public information about its funding and financial activities is not available. There should be public accounting for such large organizations.
Kirti Azad also commented on the appointment of Bajrang Lal Bagra as a new member after the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra were accepted in the Ram Mandir Trust meeting. He claimed that Bagra is currently the International General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and this raises questions about his role.
Referring to the previous administrative career of Bajrang Lal Bagra, Kirti Azad said that he has been an officer of the Indian Forest Service and has held the post of Chairman and Managing Director of the public sector company National Aluminum Company Limited.
Apart from this, Kirti Azad also reacted to the news of rebel TMC MPs seeking additional time from the Election Commission. Taking aim at the rebel MPs, he said that when documents and facts are accumulated in a case, there is less scope for improvement later. These people are about to leave the party and they do not have enough answers in their favor.
Kirti Azad also reacted to Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s statement on the case of alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in Baruipur. He alleged that some leaders look for communal approach in every matter. Irrespective of the religion of which the victim of crime belongs, she is first and foremost a child and such cases should not be given a political or communal colour.
