Taking major action against a bribe taking government servant, Jabalpur Lokayukta has today arrested a sub engineer posted in Panagar Municipality red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 40 thousand. The name of the accused is Shubham Jain, who was continuously demanding bribe to get the bill of a contractor of Jabalpur passed.
According to the information received from Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Jabalpur office, the contractor Rajendra Satnami Due to demand of bribe by sub engineer Shubham Jain Frustrated and complained in writing. After investigation this afternoon, Lokayukta police caught the sub engineer red handed taking bribe.
Bribe demanded in exchange for passing the final bill
Contractor Rajendra Satnami had taken the tender of pesticides in Panagar Municipality, some of which had been paid, and some final amount was left, for releasing which Shubham Jain was demanding Rs 50 thousand as commission. The contractor was repeatedly pleading with the engineer that there was not enough money left in the contract to pay commission, but Shubham was not ready to agree.
Engineer caught taking bribe of Rs 40,000/-
Frustrated, contractor Rajendra complained in writing to Lokayukta SP. After investigating the complaint, it was found to be true and today afternoon, when Shubham Jain was sitting in his office taking bribe of Rs 40 thousand, the Lokayukta police caught him. After this action, there was panic among the officers and employees posted in the municipality.
