In the recently concluded cabinet meeting, the government has shared three big good news for the government employees, which will directly have a positive impact on their pockets. In this era of inflation, the government has approved the historic proposal to increase the amount of uniform allowance, washing allowance, LTC and children’s education assistance.

Allowances increased by 50%, relief from inflation

Yogi Cabinet has approved the recommendations of the Chief Secretary Committee and decided to increase various types of allowances by up to 50 percent. After the implementation of the revised rates, there will be a direct improvement in the financial condition of the employees. The government believes that in view of the increasing needs and inflation with time, it was very important to take this step, so that the employees are encouraged to do their work in a better way.

Employees of which departments will get the benefit?

The scope of this decision is quite wide. Employees of Home (Police) Department, Subordinate Court, Jail Department, Forest Department, Excise, Medical Department, Basic, Secondary and Higher Education Department besides Technical and Vocational Education Department will benefit from this. Besides, officers and employees of Governor Secretariat, Assembly and Legislative Council Secretariat will also be part of this new system. A large section will get a chance to directly benefit from this decision.

New mathematics of uniform and education allowance

The government has significantly increased the amount given for uniforms and their maintenance. Employees who used to get ₹3,000 annual uniform allowance till now will now get ₹4,500. At the same time, those whose allowance was ₹6,400 will increase to ₹9,600, and those getting ₹7,500 will now get ₹11,250. Along with this, the amount given for children’s education and Leave Travel Facility (LTC) has also been revised, due to which the employees will feel great relief in family expenses.

This decision will definitely boost the morale of the employees. This step of Yogi government is being considered very positive in government departments.
