Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the name of its candidate for the by-election to be held on Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar. The Central Election Committee of the party has decided to field Abhishek Kumar. Let us tell you, Abhishek Kumar has been a worker associated with the organization for a long time and is currently serving as the state vice president of BJP Yuva Morcha.

Who is Abhishek Kumar?

According to party sources, Abhishek Kumar has been identified as an active organizational worker. He comes from Kayastha community and has been continuously active in organizational activities in the state office as well as in Bankipur area. It is being told that former MLA Nitin Naveen had also supported his name, after which the party leadership decided to make him the candidate.

The contest on Bankipur seat is likely to be interesting. Earlier, Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishore had also announced his candidate from this seat. In such a situation, a direct and tough competition can be seen between political parties in the by-elections.

The seat became vacant after the resignation of Nitin Navin.

This seat became vacant after the resignation of senior BJP leader Nitin Naveen. Recently he was elected the national president of the party, after which he entered Parliament through Rajya Sabha. Due to assuming the new responsibility, he had resigned from the membership of Bankipur Assembly, due to which there was a need for by-election here.

Complete program ready for by-elections

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has also released the schedule of by-elections on the vacant assembly seats of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. As per the scheduled schedule, the nomination process has started with the release of notification from July 6. Candidates will be able to file their nomination papers till 13th July, while scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 14th July. The last date for withdrawal of names has been fixed as July 16.

According to the schedule of the Election Commission, voting will be held on July 30 for all three assembly seats including Bankipur. After this, counting of votes will take place on August 3 and election results will be declared on the same day. The Commission aims to complete the entire election process by August 4.
