London-based Nothing has officially launched the Phone (4b) in India, marking the debut of its new (b) series. The device is as an accessible entry point into the company’s product ecosystem, and builds on the Phone (4a) lineup with a focus on design, battery life, software and AI-powered features.

The Phone (4b) retains Nothing’s transparent design language by combining Glyph Bar from the Phone (4a) and unibody styling from the Phone (4a) Pro. The handset is available in Black, White and Blue. It has durability features such as IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, and can withstand up to 600N of bending force.

For the fans of IPL 2026 champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Nothing has also announced a limited Phone (4b) RCB Edition to commemorate the team’s second IPL title. The special edition comes in an exclusive red finish with RCB branding and collector’s packaging. It will be sold exclusively through Nothing’s flagship store in Bengaluru.

Key features to note

Nothing Phone (4b) is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, paired with Qualcomm’s sixth-generation AI Engine for on-device AI tasks including photography and voice recognition.

The smartphone has a 4,400mm² vapour chamber, which is designed to improve heat dissipation during gaming and video recording. Nothing says the device supports up to 90fps gameplay in BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, while compatible titles such as Subway Surfers and League of Legends: Wild Rift can run at up to 120fps. The vapour chamber will be a boon for mobile gamers.

Battery capacity is one of the biggest upgrades on the Phone (4b). The handset packs a 6,000mAh battery, the largest ever fitted to a Nothing smartphone and around 11 percent larger than the battery used in the Phone (4a) Pro.

Nothing claims the battery delivers up to 18 hours of mixed usage, including up to 22 hours of YouTube playback and 26 hours of Instagram browsing, though we are yet to test the same. The battery supports 33W wired fast charging, reaching 50 percent in under 30 minutes and a full charge in just over an hour. The company also says the battery is designed to retain up to 90 percent of its original capacity after 1,200 charging cycles.

The Phone (4b) features a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and EIS, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front-facing selfie camera. Notable photography features include Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4 and Ultra XDR imaging, 4K at 30fps video recording and a new dual video capture mode allows users to record simultaneously using the front and rear cameras.

The Phone (4b) comes with a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 1,200 nits outdoor brightness and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. The company’s signature Glyph Interface returns in the form of a refined Glyph Bar. The lighting system provides visual notifications for calls, charging status, recording indicators and app alerts.

The Phone (4b) ships with Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16. Nothing has committed to three years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates, which the company says is the longest software support offered within the device’s market segment.
