An investigation that started after a C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette was reported stolen from a dealership in Thousand Oaks, California, has led to several arrests and the recovery of vehicles worth more than $1.3 million. The recovered cars include a Lamborghini Aventador and multiple Porsche 911 models. The case extended into Hollywood and Los Angeles, as confirmed by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

The stolen vehicle, a 2026 Corvette Stingray valued by authorities at $105,000, was reported missing on May 19. In the following weeks, detectives from the East County Special Enforcement Unit collaborated with the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force, the Organized Retail Theft Task Force, the East County Investigations Bureau Property Crimes Unit, and the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit to trace the individuals allegedly involved in the theft.

The investigation reached its peak on July 1, when law enforcement officers executed a planned operation in Los Angeles County. Two suspects, identified as Brandon Taylor and John Ivy, were arrested on multiple felony charges, including vehicle theft, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property.

Searches conducted at properties in North Hollywood and Los Angeles revealed a significant amount of equipment typically used in organized vehicle theft operations. Items seized included blank temporary number plates, key fobs for luxury cars, fake vehicle registration papers, electronic devices, and other materials linked to the case. Authorities also recovered and impounded several vehicles believed to be stolen or fraudulently registered. The list of recovered vehicles includes the following:

• Lamborghini Aventador (valued at approximately $450,000)

• Porsche 911 Carrera (valued at approximately $240,000)

• Porsche 911 Targa (valued at approximately $240,000)

• Chevrolet Silverado 2500 (valued at approximately $70,000)

• GMC Hummer EV (valued at approximately $100,000)

• BMW X7 M60i (valued at approximately $110,000)

• Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (valued at approximately $89,000)

• Chevrolet Colorado (valued at approximately $35,000)

In total, the recovered vehicles are estimated to be worth over $1.3 million. From a performance perspective, these vehicles collectively produce more than 4000 horsepower, representing a remarkable lineup of high-performance cars uncovered in a single investigation.

According to the authorities, both suspects — Taylor and Ivy — are currently being held at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility. The case has been forwarded to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, with bail for each suspect set at $250,000.
