According to journalist Abraham Romero (via Ramon Alvarez on YouTube), Real Madrid have no plans to enhance their current contract renewal proposal for Vinicius Jr., remaining steadfast in the position they adopted before the World Cup began.
Negotiations between the Spanish giants and their star winger have reportedly reached a financial stalemate, creating growing uncertainty about the Brazilian’s long-term future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The crux of the dispute revolves around a significant difference in valuation between the two parties. Real Madrid’s management have presented a renewal deal worth €20 million net per season, which represents an increase from Vinicius’s current €17 million annual salary.
However, the player’s representatives are pushing for a figure closer to €30 million, arguing that Vinicius’s exceptional marketability and decisive performances on the pitch justify placing him among the top earners in global football.
In addition, the forward’s camp is also requesting a renewal bonus, something the Madrid hierarchy is firmly opposed to including in the agreement.
Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly maintaining a resolute stance, refusing to yield to the player’s financial demands. The board remains committed to preserving the club’s strict wage structure, even for a player of Vinicius’s stature, despite his outstanding displays for Brazil during the World Cup.
This unwavering approach is consistent with the strategy Real Madrid implemented prior to the tournament, signalling that the club’s leadership is fully prepared to hold its position regardless of external pressures from the transfer market.
With Vinicius now entering the final year of his contract, the lack of headway in talks is expected to draw interest from top clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia.
A meeting is scheduled between Perez and Vinicius in the coming weeks to discuss the matter further. While both sides share the desire to continue their association, neither appears willing to make concessions, leaving negotiations in a delicate state.
From the club’s perspective, the €20 million per year offer is considered both generous and reflective of Vinicius’s elite status within the squad hierarchy.
Should the player’s representatives continue to insist on their €30 million demand, this contractual impasse could soon escalate into one of Real Madrid’s most defining off-field stories of the season.
