clean your house : First of all you have to clean your house before the beginning of Sawan. The more cleanliness there is in the house, the happier Mahadev becomes.

Before Shravan, plant Tulsi and Belpatra plants in the house: Before Sawan, plant Tulsi and Belpatra plants in your house. Both these plants are considered very useful. Mahadev is pleased with these two plants.

Clean the temple: Before the start of Sawan, you should clean the temple of your house thoroughly. If there is dirt in the temple then it causes Vaastu defect, in such a situation you should clean the temple in the best possible way.

Stay away from drugs and bad habits: In religious beliefs, Saavan has been called the month of restraint and devotion, hence you will have to stay away from bad habits in this month, otherwise worshiping you will not yield any auspicious results.

Eat healthy food: Even before the month of Sawan starts, you should stay away from meat and fish. In the month of Sawan, you should eat satvik food and to please Mahadev, you should help the elderly.

The month of Sawan is going to start on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The month of Sawan will continue till 28 August 2026. This year there are going to be four Mondays in the month of Sawan. In this month you should stay away from things like lust and anger.
