Dramatic scenes unfolded inside the Supreme Court on Friday when a petitioner appearing in person disrupted court proceedings, hurled papers towards the bench and allegedly used abusive language against the Chief Justice of India during a hearing.

The incident took place before a benchof Justice K.V. Viswanathan and Justice Alok Aradhe, which was hearing a Special Leave Petition challenging an order of the Allahabad High Court related to alleged police inaction in a cybercrime complaint.

During the hearing, the petitioner adopted an aggressive tone while making his submissions. According to Bar and Bench, he told the court, "Mr judicial servant. I order you to order the registration of an FIR against the ACP ... Lucknow."

Justice Viswanathan immediately objected to the remark, asking, "You are ordering me? You are ordering us?"

The petitioner replied, "That is all from my side. Everything is on record."

Shortly afterwards, the petitioner allegedly became agitated, threw his case papers towards the bench and used abusive language directed at the Chief Justice of India. Supreme Court security personnel immediately intervened, restrained him and escorted him out of the courtroom. Despite the disruption, the judges remained composed and did not engage with his conduct.

After order was restored, the bench proceeded to pronounce its decision on the petition.

"We do not propose to take any action against him. As far as the merits of the case are concerned, we have perused the records and find no good grounds to interfere with the impugned order. The Special Leave Petition is dismissed," Justice Viswanathan said.

Following the hearing, senior advocate P.S. Patwalia remarked, "It is said that the job of a judge is not easy. On some days, it becomes more visible."

Responding to the comment, Justice Viswanathan expressed sympathy for the petitioner, saying, "He is very disturbed... it's all frustration. We only have sympathies for him."

Despite the courtroom disruption, the bench chose not to initiate contempt proceedings or any other action against the petitioner and continued hearing the remaining matters listed for the day. The Special Leave Petition was dismissed on merits.
