West Ham United have confirmed the signing of former Aston Villa forward Ebony Salmon, with the announcement made through an official club statement on Thursday afternoon.
The 25-year-old attacker arrives in East London after completing a three-year stint with Aston Villa, who are also part of the Barclays Women’s Super League. During her time at Villa Park, Salmon made 75 appearances across all competitions. Previously, she represented Bristol City in the Women’s Super League and has also played for Manchester United, Sheffield United, Racing Louisville, and Houston Dash earlier in her career.
On the international front, Salmon has earned four caps for England, with her most recent appearance for the Lionesses coming in 2023.
Speaking after completing her move to West Ham United, Salmon said, “I’m really excited to join West Ham United and begin this next chapter of my career.”
She added, “After the conversations I had with Rita [Guarino] and others at the Club, it just seemed like the right fit for me.”
“I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting all of my teammates and the fans, and helping West Ham push on this season.”
Salmon becomes the Hammers’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming Women’s Super League campaign.
