Landslide was caused by heavy rain

Repair work is being done on war footing to resume traffic as soon as possible. Difficult hilly terrain and challenging conditions due to rain are hampering the restoration. At present one of the three lines has been started. While work on two is going on.
Additional bus service for convenience
To ensure that passengers do not face any hassle, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation will operate 200 additional bus services daily on the Mumbai-Pune route from Saturday. These buses will be run in addition to the already running 312 E Shivneri services.
