Bengaluru: A troubling incident regarding women's safety has emerged from Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Following the victim's complaint, the Marathahalli police registered a case and apprehended the suspect.


According to police reports, the arrested individual has been identified as 22-year-old Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat. It is reported that he arrived at the woman's flat on Saturday evening to deliver an online order. During the delivery, he allegedly requested permission to use the bathroom. After granting him permission on a humanitarian basis, the woman claims that upon his return, he made obscene gestures and behaved inappropriately.


Shocked by the incident, the woman quickly recorded a video of the accused on her mobile phone. She later shared this video on social media, where it rapidly went viral. The video's circulation heightened public concern over the woman's safety, prompting calls for stringent action.


After the video gained traction, the Marathahalli police took immediate notice, reaching out to the woman to gather details about the incident. Subsequently, based on her formal complaint, an FIR was filed against the accused under relevant sections of the law. The police acted swiftly, arresting the suspect and initiating an interrogation.


Authorities have stated that a thorough investigation is underway. They are examining the viral video along with other available evidence.
