Indian women’s team created history in the Mecca of cricket ‘Lord’s’!

The Indian team has defeated the England women’s cricket team in the test match played at Lord’s. The men’s team has won three Test matches at Lord’s in 1986, 2014 and 2021. However, the women’s team achieved this success in its first attempt itself. India won this match by 270 runs.

Both the teams played a Test match for the first time at Lord’s and the Indian women’s team defeated England on their own soil. India had set a big target of 456 runs for England, which the English team could not achieve. The women’s team was playing a Test match for the first time on this ground and India won it.

India set a big target of 457 runs for the England women’s cricket team. The English team was all out for 186 runs and lost the match. In the second innings, Amy Jones and Sophie Ecclestone scored half-centuries, but they could not help the team win. This was the last Test match for England’s Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight, and they could not win their last match either.

Batting first against England, the Indian team scored 285 runs. Smriti Mandhana played a brilliant inning of 83 runs for Team India. Harmanpreet Kaur (58) and Deepti Sharma (57) also scored half-centuries. In reply to India’s 285 runs, England were all out for 170 runs, giving the visiting team a lead of 115 runs in the first innings. While opening the innings for India, Kranti Gaur took five wickets.

After taking a lead of 115 runs in the first innings, Yastika Bhatia scored a century for the Indian team in the second innings. He scored 113 runs in 158 balls. Smriti Mandhana (70) and Richa Ghosh (50*) also scored half-centuries. India ended its innings at 341/7 and gave England a target of 457 runs.

England failed to bat in the second innings also. His team was all out for just 186 runs, due to which India won the match by 270 runs. Sneh Rana was the best bowler for India, she took four wickets. Sayali Satghare, Kranti Gaur and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each.
