Despite the injury suffered by their first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid reportedly have no plans to enter the transfer market for a new shot-stopper, according to AS.

The Spanish giants are confident that their existing goalkeeping options provide both immediate reliability and future security, with Courtois, Andriy Lunin, and academy talents Fran Gonzalez and Javi Navarro forming a solid unit.

Courtois endured a disappointing end to the World Cup after sustaining an injury against Spain, which forced him to be substituted. The issue will require rehabilitation during his holiday period.

However, the injury is not believed to be serious. The Belgian goalkeeper is expected to recover in time for the start of the upcoming La Liga season, and the club’s faith in him remains unwavering.

Although Courtois has faced a few injury concerns recently, neither the player nor the club see any reason for alarm.

In fact, Real Madrid are planning to extend Courtois’ current contract, which runs until June 2027. The message from Valdebebas is clear: as long as Courtois stays motivated and physically fit, he will continue to be one of the team’s key figures.

The club are also highly satisfied with Andriy Lunin. The Ukrainian goalkeeper, whose contract runs until 2030, is viewed internally as the ideal second-choice option.

Officials at the club appreciate Lunin’s professionalism and his consistent readiness, both mentally and physically, despite limited match minutes. His attitude ensures he is always prepared when called upon.

With Courtois and Lunin firmly established, Real Madrid see no need to bring in another goalkeeper any time soon. The coaching staff remain completely confident in their current goalkeeping department.

Behind the senior pair, Real Madrid are continuing to develop two promising academy goalkeepers, Fran Gonzalez and Javi Navarro.

According to the report, the Merengues are currently seeking the right loan opportunity for Gonzalez to further his development. The focus is not merely on finding a club willing to take him, but one that can offer him regular first-team football in La Liga or a similarly competitive setting.

Javi Navarro, meanwhile, continues to make a strong impression. The young keeper was one of the standout performers for Real Madrid’s Juvenil A team last season and also played a key role for Spain in the U19 European Championship.

Next season, Navarro is expected to join Real Madrid Castilla, where he will compete with Sergio Mestre for the starting goalkeeper position.

With a world-class starter in Courtois, a dependable deputy in Lunin, and two highly rated youngsters progressing through the ranks, Real Madrid believe their goalkeeping department is one of the most secure and well-structured areas of the squad.

At present, reinforcing that position is not part of the club’s transfer strategy.
