Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea on Monday afternoon. The 22-year-old joins the Red Devils to add depth and strength to their midfield options ahead of the new season.

As reported by The Athletic, the transfer is valued at approximately €56 million. Santos, who has earned six international caps for Brazil, struggled to cement a regular place at Chelsea, making 25 starts in 43 appearances, during which he scored three goals and assisted four times.

The midfielder spent one and a half seasons on loan at Strasbourg from February 2024 to June 2025, where he occasionally captained the French side. His leadership qualities and consistent performances in Ligue 1 played a key role in raising his profile.

Santos received his first call-up to the Brazil national team in March 2023, though he did not feature in the World Cup. Now, he will have the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United following their third-place finish in the Premier League last season.

Reports also suggest that Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans could be another potential arrival at Old Trafford. Tielemans impressed during the World Cup, though Belgium were eliminated by Spain in the quarter-finals with a 1-2 defeat. The midfielder unfortunately sustained an injury during the warm-up and was unable to participate in that match.
