Aston Villa have strongly denied rumours linking Emiliano Martinez with a summer move to Juventus. Damian Vidagany, the club’s Director of Professional Football, affirmed that the Argentina international remains a vital part of Unai Emery’s plans and dismissed recent reports suggesting a potential departure as inaccurate.

Villa confirm Martinez is not for sale

The club has sought to bring an end to growing speculation around Martinez’s future following reports connecting him with Juventus. Vidagany emphasised that Villa have no intention of allowing the 33-year-old goalkeeper to leave, describing him as a crucial figure in Emery’s squad and a central component of The Villans’ strategy for the upcoming season.

His remarks come at a time when Juventus are reportedly in search of a new first-choice goalkeeper. However, Villa’s firm position indicates they are unwilling to enter negotiations for one of their most influential players.

Vidagany outlines Villa’s stance

Speaking to 365Scores, Vidagany addressed the speculation surrounding Martinez’s future, firmly denying that the World Cup-winning goalkeeper could move to Turin. He reiterated that Aston Villa’s position remains unchanged despite ongoing media chatter.

“Dibu’s future is secure. He’s staying with us, and we have no intention of letting him go this summer. The team needs his commitment and vast experience, and he is a very important asset in our project for next season,” Vidagany said.

He added, “All the reports about his possible transfer to Juventus do not represent the club’s actual stance. Martinez is a very important player for us, and we expect him to continue performing at a high level alongside his teammates.”

Villa dispute Italian media claims

Vidagany’s comments directly contradict a Sky Italia report that claimed Martinez had agreed to a three-year contract with Juventus running until 2029. The same report also suggested that the former Arsenal goalkeeper was willing to take a pay cut to finalise the move. Nevertheless, Villa’s official position makes it clear that the Premier League side are not entertaining any offers, regardless of the Serie A club’s continued interest.

Juventus may explore other targets

With Aston Villa resolute in their decision, Juventus may have to shift their focus towards alternative goalkeeping options if they persist in their search for a new No. 1. As for Villa, Martinez is expected to remain an integral part of Emery’s plans heading into the forthcoming Premier League campaign, with the club determined to keep hold of one of their most seasoned and influential players.
