Arsenal are actively reshaping their squad as manager Mikel Arteta continues his push to secure key summer signings.
Belgian winger Leandro Trossard is set to depart for Turkey in a transfer worth approximately £20 million. The club confirmed the move in an official statement, saying: “We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard.”
The statement continued, “With the transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo his medical examination and finalise the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig side. We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta is eager to strengthen his options on the left flank, paving the way for the potential arrival of his top target, Morgan Rogers.
According to Standard Sport, fellow left winger Gabriel Martinelli has also been made available for transfer this summer, as the Gunners look to refresh their attacking options.
Arsenal have identified Rogers as their ideal signing for the transfer window, though progress has been slow on a deal estimated to be around £130 million, partly due to England’s ongoing participation in the World Cup.
Arteta, a long-time admirer of the 23-year-old England international, is keen to add him to his squad this summer to enhance overall depth and balance.
Aston Villa are expected to resist selling Rogers, but reports suggest the player himself is keen on joining the Premier League champions.
It has been a turbulent transfer period for Villa so far. The Midlands club successfully hijacked Newcastle United’s pursuit of Johan Manzambi, but have also seen both Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne leave the club.
