Light drizzle of rain and pleasant weather is liked by everyone. But, this season is considered to be the most sensitive from health and digestion point of view. Due to increase in humidity in the air during monsoon, harmful bacteria, fungus and viruses grow very rapidly, due to which our metabolism slows down. In such a situation, if we are even a little careless towards our eating habits, then a ‘ball of fire’ of gas, acidity, heaviness and cramps is formed in the stomach, which becomes difficult to handle. If you want to save yourself from visiting doctors and hospitals for the next 2 months, then immediately give up these 5 things. 1. Samosas, Pakodas and deep fried foods: As soon as the rain starts, the first thing that comes to mind is eating hot pakodas, samosas or kachoris with tea. But, such heavy things are harmful in this season both from Vaastu and health point of view. Due to slow metabolism, it is very difficult for the intestines to digest heavy and oily food during monsoon. This immediately leads to severe acid reflux (severe burning sensation in the chest), heaviness in the stomach and indigestion. 2. Green leafy vegetables (spinach, cabbage etc.) Green leafy vegetables are generally considered to be a treasure of health, but in monsoon, they can cause a major infection for you. During the rainy season, germs, small insects and bacteria quickly make their home due to moisture between the layers of vegetables like spinach, cabbage and fenugreek. By not washing or eating them properly, there is a risk of food poisoning, serious stomach infection and severe stomach cramps. 3. Street Food and Golgappa (Puchka) In this season, the spicy and sour water of Golgappa found on the roadside, chaat and things sold in the open are the biggest risk to health. Flies settle on them as they are often kept uncovered by street vendors, and Golgappa water is most likely to be contaminated with contaminated water. Consuming it can cause diseases like typhoid, jaundice, diarrhea and severe stomach cramps. 4. Seafood (fish and sea creatures) The rainy months are the breeding season for fish and other sea creatures. During this period, the risk of stomach infection and allergy increases manifold due to seafood available in the market. Additionally, increased pollution in water bodies leads to accumulation of toxins in fish. Therefore, it is wise to completely avoid non-vegetarian food, especially seafood, for the next two months. 5. Pre-cut fruits and fruits with excessive water Pre-cut fruits sold in the market or roadside vendors are the biggest source of germs and silent bacteria. These fruits get contaminated very quickly due to exposure to air. Along with this, in this season, consuming too much of ‘cool’ and highly water-rich fruits makes the digestive system sluggish, which increases the problem of gas and bloating.
