Mohamed Salah is reportedly open to the idea of making a surprising return to his former club, Chelsea, as per Egyptian television reports.
Speculation emerging from Salah’s homeland indicates that the 34-year-old forward could be willing to rejoin Chelsea this summer, with early discussions said to be taking place.
The Egyptian international is currently without a club after parting ways with Liverpool by mutual agreement, bringing to an end a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield.
During his time with the Reds, Salah netted an impressive 257 goals in 442 appearances. His tenure included two Premier League titles, a Champions League crown, and an unprecedented three PFA Player of the Year awards among a host of personal and team honours.
Earlier in his career, Salah endured a challenging period at Chelsea, managing only 13 league appearances before departing for more regular football elsewhere.
However, new reports from Egypt claim that Salah is now open to returning to Stamford Bridge, motivated by a desire to continue competing at the highest level. Chelsea’s management are said to see him as a valuable senior presence who could offer leadership and experience to a youthful squad still finding its footing.
