Patna. Before the by-election to be held on Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar, Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore has suffered a big political setback. Senior party leaders Bittu Singh and K.C. Sinha left Jan Suraj and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The change of party of both the leaders is being considered as a significant loss for Jan Suraj before the elections.

KC has contested elections from Kumhrar. Sinha
How. Sinha had contested the last assembly elections from Kumhrar seat on Jan Suraj’s ticket. He is considered to have a good hold on the area. In such a situation, his joining BJP just before the by-elections can affect the political equations. Jan Suraj’s organization has suffered a setback with Bittu Singh also joining BJP.
BJP changed candidate
Bankipur seat became vacant after the election of Nitin Naveen to Rajya Sabha. BJP has now nominated Neeraj Kumar Sinha, associated with Yuva Morcha, as its candidate for this seat. Earlier, the party had given ticket to Abhishek Kumar alias Bunty, but after his name was withdrawn, Neeraj was fielded.

On the other hand, Prashant Kishore himself is contesting this seat on behalf of Jan Suraj. In such a situation, the competition is considered to be quite interesting.
Voting on 30th July, results on 3rd August
Along with Bankipur assembly seat, voting will also be held on two other assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat on July 30. The results of all these seats will be declared on August 3. The defection of leaders before the elections has further heated up the atmosphere of Bihar politics.
