Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha reacted to BJP’s claims on international tension over the Strait of Hormuz, the case of alleged theft of offerings in Ram temple, the central government’s stance on the definition of passport and the Bankipur assembly by-election in Bihar. He raised questions on many issues, targeting the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the news of re-imposition of blockade by America in the Strait of Hormuz, RJD MP Manoj Jha said that the world is passing through such a phase where wars and global crises are not being viewed from the humanitarian perspective, but from the perspective of economic indicators and market fluctuations. Hardly any head of state has been heard speaking such language before.

The kind of statements being made regarding war and military action are worrying. In the first two days, there is talk of ending the war and after some time new military action is announced. This further increases global instability.

Manoj Jha also raised questions on the role of the United Nations (UNO) in this entire incident. He said that if the United Nations is not able to discharge its core responsibilities effectively, then the countries of the world should consider it seriously. Any crisis to the Strait of Hormuz is not limited to that region only, rather it impacts the entire world and can spread like wildfire.

On the upcoming SIT report in the case of alleged theft of offerings in Ram temple, Manoj Jha said that the report should be awaited before reaching any conclusion. However, he described the entire matter as not just theft but a grave betrayal of faith, religious belief and traditions.

He alleged that some people, claiming to be Ram devotees, had assumed that no questions would be raised against them, but the ideals of Lord Ram do not accept such acts. Even those who voted for the government are now realizing that they have made a mistake. On such a serious matter, not a single word was spoken by the Prime Minister and his silence has become the most discussed topic.

Manoj Jha gave a sarcastic response when the Central Government said that passport is a document controlling the foreign travel of Indian citizens. He said that earlier there had been widespread discussion and criticism regarding the passport being described as a mere travel document.

Now the government should constitute a committee which will decide the definition of passport and if necessary, should also bring a bill on this subject in the upcoming session of Parliament, so that different interpretations do not come to the fore again and again.

Regarding BJP’s claims of victory in Bihar’s Bankipur Assembly seat, Manoj Jha said that the country has seen many times how quickly BJP’s claims and promises are dashed. During the elections, he was worried that a third strong candidate might enter the fray.

Ultimately, after the situation became clear, the contest remained straight and now he is confident that the public will decide as per their sentiments. Manoj Jha claimed that the people of Bankipur will take better decisions and the upcoming election results will be in favor of Rashtriya Janata Dal. Public decision is more important than political claims and he is confident that voters will vote this time keeping their interests in mind.
