Sahitya Akademi, Madhya Pradesh Culture Council (Culture Department) has announced the All India and Regional Kriti Awards for the calendar year 2024. This year, Additional Managing Director and renowned writer Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar’s famous work ‘Corona Yodha Ki Sangharsh Katha’ has been selected for the state level regional ‘Rajendra Anuragi Award’ under the diary genre.
Director of Sahitya Academy, Dr. Vikas Dave said that in these awards announced by the Academy, the winning creators of the Regional Kriti Award will be decorated with an honorarium of Rs 51,000/- (fifty one thousand) along with shawl, quince, memento and citation. In most of the categories, two best works have been jointly selected by the jury, in which Dr. Bedekar’s work has won this distinction for the diary genre.
It is noteworthy that only Dr. Bedekar’s work has been selected in the diary category of the regional award. Generally, works of two writers have been selected in all the genres.
This work of Dr. Bedekar encompasses the unprecedented struggles, challenges and lived experiences faced by the frontline warriors during the difficult times of the Corona pandemic. There is joy among the literary world and intelligentsia of the region over this prestigious honor received by Dr. Bedekar at the state level. The selected creators will be honored in a dignified ceremony to be organized soon by the Culture Department.
