Delhi High Court is strict on Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, told the Center – “Do whatever is necessary to save her life”

Famous social workers and innovators of Ladakh Sonam Wangchuk The Delhi High Court on Thursday gave strict instructions to the Central Government regarding the indefinite hunger strike that has been going on for 19 consecutive days. The court clearly stated that the life of any citizen is priceless and whatever medical intervention is necessary to save his life should be done immediately.

Delhi High Court said during the hearing that if there is a need to take any kind of medical assistance, treatment or other necessary steps to save the life of Sonam Wangchuk, then the concerned government agencies should take action without any delay. The court also said that the state has the responsibility to ensure the protection of life of every citizen.

Indefinite hunger strike continues for 19 days

Sonam Wangchuk is on an indefinite hunger strike for the last 19 days. It is being told that he started this movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) It has been started in support of the ongoing protests against Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The main issue of the movement is said to be the alleged paper leak in various competitive examinations and the demand for transparency in the education system.

His health condition remains a matter of constant concern during the hunger strike. According to information, his weight is approximately 8.5 kg has reduced till now, after which serious apprehensions are being raised regarding his health.

Fear of danger to life was expressed in the petition

The petition filed in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday said that if no effective medical intervention was taken soon, his life could be in serious danger within the next 48 hours. The petitioner alleged that the government is not showing enough sensitivity in this entire matter.

In the petition, the court was urged to admit Sonam Wangchuk to a government hospital and provide necessary nutrition, vitamins and other medical assistance, so that her life can be saved.

High Court asked for regular medical monitoring from the government

During the hearing, the court also asked the central government as to how Wangchuk’s regular health monitoring is being done. On this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the Central Government, said that his health check-up is being done daily, although sometimes this check-up is also done by private doctors.

On this, the court directed that henceforth his regular and daily medical examination should be done by government doctors. The court said that if any kind of medicine or medical intervention is required based on the health report, the concerned authorities should take immediate action.

The court said- every citizen’s life is priceless

Delhi High Court said in its order that the life of any citizen is extremely important and it is the responsibility of the administration to make every possible effort to protect it. The court clarified that this matter is not just about a movement, but about the safety of a citizen’s life.

Sonam Wangchuk spoke in an emotional video message

Hours before the court hearing, Sonam Wangchuk released a video message. He said that despite the hunger strike, his mental condition is strong, although he is feeling weak in the body. He said that his muscles are getting tired, but his courage and determination are still intact.

He also made it clear that he would not end his fast merely by appealing. They said that the agitation will continue until the government responds positively to their demands.

Appeal to people to participate in large numbers on 20th July

In the video message, Sonam Wangchuk appealed to citizens across the country, especially youth, students and teachers, to participate in large numbers in the proposed demonstration to be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on July 20. He said that only if this issue reaches the public representatives and the Parliament strongly, the objective of the movement will be achieved.

He said that when this issue is put before the MPs effectively, then they will be confident that the matter is moving in the right direction.

Movement regarding education system

It is being told that the main objective of this movement being run by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is to ensure transparency and accountability in the examination system, alleged paper leaks in competitive examinations. The agitators are also demanding the resignation of the Education Minister and are demanding comprehensive reforms in the education system.

Sonam Wangchuk’s indefinite fast in support of this issue has become a topic of discussion at the national level. Now after the instructions of Delhi High Court, the whole country is keeping an eye on the next action of the government and the health condition of Wangchuk.
