Dirty Water Chutney Exposed Raid: In today’s time, everyone likes to eat fast food, whether they are children, youth or older people. While in earlier times people liked simple food, nowadays people like to eat mostly market items. Often people eat momos and red chutney with great taste at the cart in the evening. It tastes very tasty when eaten, due to which people eat to their heart’s content. But people are not aware of how these momos and red chutney are prepared and how the shop owner makes them.

To highlight this truth, a campaign was launched by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department in Kanpur, the purpose of which was to check the cleanliness of momos shops in the city. During the campaign, the department found that many hotel operators prepare momos and red chutney from dirty water and also keep them in unhygienic places. According to the information, during the departmental action, about 115 kg of spoiled red chutney was destroyed. The department will thoroughly examine some samples of momos and chutney.

Momos and chutney were being made from dirty water

According to reports, a campaign was launched in the city on the instructions of District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh. Under this campaign, officials went to the stalls in the city and checked the cleanliness and hygiene there. The departmental team first investigated the hotels preparing momos in Rawatpur, Saket Nagar and Maswanpur areas. After this the team reached the place of Akash Momos and Balaji Momos.

Here the team very seriously checked the quality and cleanliness of the food items. At all the places, it was found that the momos and red chutney served to the people were prepared with dirty water and were kept in unhygienic places, following which the officials termed it a threat to the health of the people eating it.

‘Shri Balaji Momos’ running without license, sealed

During inspection, a major irregularity was found in ‘Shri Balaji Momos’ of Rawatpur. This shop was running without the necessary food registration. There was a lot of dirt there and the maintenance of food items was also not good. Because of this the authorities immediately closed the shop. Instructions have been given that until registration is done and cleanliness deficiencies are not rectified, the shop will not reopen.

Heavy dirt found in momos chutney

During the investigation, the biggest negligence was found in the chutney of momos. Food safety officials found chutney kept in very dirty condition at many places, the quality of which was suspected to be poor. Officials have sent its samples for testing.
