The popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is rising not only in India but also across the seven seas in America. Recently, Indian-origin American MP Shri Thanedar has praised PM Modi profusely. Describing Modi as a ‘very charismatic leader’, he said that the pace of development that India has achieved in the last decade is an example for the whole world and America should also give it due respect.
Thanedar spoke on the friendship between Trump and Modi
Mr. Thanedar, a Democratic MP from Michigan, during a recent interview mentioned the warm relations between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. Thanedar said, “President Trump and PM Modi have a very good relationship. Modi ji has a charismatic personality and that is why he has excellent relations with almost all the big leaders of the world.” He recalled PM Modi’s historic visits to New York, Houston and Washington DC, where he was given a grand welcome.
‘Tell Congress members how India is’
MP Thanedar also mentioned his long conversation which took place during the state visit of PM Modi in Washington. Thanedar said that PM Modi had requested him to show the real picture of India’s diversity and development to the American lawmakers. Modi had told him, “Tell the Congress members what India is. Here people speaking different languages and different cultures live together and the country is continuously moving towards progress.”
India will now become the world’s third largest economy
MP Thanedar said that PM Modi’s aim is that American MPs themselves should come to India and see the change at the ground level. Thanedar has already brought a delegation of lawmakers to India and is now preparing to visit India again with Republican and Democratic lawmakers. “In the last 10 years, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and I am confident that very soon India will be the third largest economy in the world,” he said with pride.
Gave a big message regarding China also
Speaking on India-US relations, Mr. Thanedar also mentioned security and geopolitical challenges. He clearly said that India and America are the two largest democracies in the world and both should together face the challenges of China. “I value my relationship with PM Modi very much and will continue to work towards an even stronger relationship between the two countries in the future,” he said.
