FIFA has confirmed that Hollywood star Tom Cruise will be part of the closing ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The complete line-up for the tournament’s spectacular finale has now been announced.
Sunday’s World Cup final will bring an end to an unforgettable summer of football as the new world champions are crowned.
The tournament, featuring a record 104 matches under the expanded 48-team format, has been played across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, marking a new chapter in FIFA history.
MetLife Stadium will host the grand final and will also present the World Cup’s first-ever half-time show, featuring global superstars such as Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS, and Shakira.
Preceding the half-time spectacle, the official closing ceremony will take place, which FIFA describes as a celebration of the “48 teams’ unforgettable journey” throughout the competition.
The show will begin 90 minutes before the final’s scheduled 8pm UK time kick-off, bringing together the worlds of music, cinema, and digital entertainment. Tom Cruise will headline the performance, making a much-anticipated special appearance.
The Mission Impossible actor’s participation follows his dramatic descent from the roof of the Stade de France during the closing of the 2024 Paris Olympics, an act that drew global attention.
Joining Cruise on stage will be YouTube sensation Darren Watkins, known to his fans as IShowSpeed, along with renowned singers Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger, and Laura Pausini.
Williams and Pausini previously headlined the closing ceremony of the revamped FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, while the former Take That frontman also performed at the opening of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Completing the impressive line-up is acclaimed singer Jennifer Hudson, who will perform the United States’ national anthem as part of the event.
The entire closing ceremony is being produced by Balich Wonder Studio, the Milan-based creative agency that managed all three of the 2026 World Cup’s opening ceremonies held across the US, Mexico, and Canada.
The studio, known for its large-scale productions, also oversaw the 2022 World Cup ceremonies in Qatar and has worked on several major football events, including the UEFA Euro 2024 ceremonies, the UEFA Champions League final pre-match show, and the Africa Cup of Nations.
